Mark Loren Designs was pleased to be able to help reunite Virginia De Shazo with her long lost ring! Another client, Thomas Donovan, had found the ring on the street and recognized the Loren hallmark inside the shank. He brought it to the store in hopes that we would be able to track down its owner; however, due to the volume of custom work we have done over the years – it was impossible to trace the origins. The ring was put in the showcase in hopes that its owner might stop in and recognize it. On Thursday, Virginia stopped in and mentioned her distress over losing the ring Mark had redesigned for her using her engagement ring diamond and 5 diamonds from her 50th anniversary band. Mark showed Virginia the ring and she teared up – it was a six stone design just as she’d described, she also remembered the finger size. An old appraisal was dug up and that proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that the ring was in fact Virginia’s. We were so pleased to be able to return her ring to her!

Our concept had been to aid victims of the economy, hard working citizens who were laid off or going through foreclosure due to the poor market, in giving a gift to the women who are so important in their lives: mothers. Not everyone gave the pendants to their mother, some gave them to a mother in their life: the mother of their child, the mother of their grandchildren, their mother-in-law. Their stories were diverse and touched our hearts. We are so pleased that we could help make this holiday special despite these hard times.
